God's killing spree

Bastard! A man in South Africa hung his dog till death because he/she stole a piece of meat that was lying around.

Cruelty of mankind is appalling. Maybe we should hang that man for a piece of cake of his own taste.

Some good news after this murder story.

The Colombian constitutional court rejected the presidential request for a referendum on his possible third term in office.

No way. Don’t use a democratic referendum to rape the constitution for an anti-democratic third term in office. The two term limit, valid in most presidential democracies, is there for a reason. It’s to avoid abuse and so called life-long presidencies as is typical for dictators around the globe.

Even if current Colombian president Alvaro Uribe maybe doing a good job (according to some), he still gotta stick to the rules of the democratic game as spelled out in the constitution of his country. Constitutions are the holy grail of stability and democracy. Cause once you allow to fool around with the constitution to stay longer in the presidential palace then you are on a very slippery slope. A slope that only goes downhill. Next is the “need” for a fourth term. Then he will want to stay in office indefinitely so called “for the benefit of the nation”. And after that it’s to put elections on hold for so called “stability reasons” and put his son at the head of a newly created presidential guard. At the same time trade unions are banned “for stability of the nation” and tough media laws are put in place “to protect the State”.

Next his presidential convoy is enlarged from 5 4x4s to 25. And all people need to bow their heads as the convoy cruises through Bogota. And on we go to full dictatorship where parliament is sacked and sent packing “to protect continuity and stability”. The army gets pay rises, gold mines taken over by generals and oil refineries run by the Armani-wearing son-in-law. And new money is printed with the face of the president on it. It’s all very déjà-vu. Ask the Africans, amongst others.

And that’s that. The rot has set in.

From a failed third term in Colombia to Europe’s stallion-prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Italian business mogul wouldn’t reject a “power-for-life” option. He just loves the spotlight.

Anyway, Silvio is still embroiled in several fraud trials and has now said that Italian prosecutors and judges are like the Taliban in Afghanistan. Silvio’s never afraid for some farcical statements to distract from the fraudulent facts. Classic tactics. Act like a clown to veil reality. The populist in all his glory.

Maybe he should read up on reality and realize that the Taliban are far from defeated, despite the glorious Italian forces helping the US and NATO in that forsaken land. Wonder how many Italian troops are in Afghanistan and what they are doing there, because we know about US and British troops on a new offensive in the south. We know Belgian C130 pilots are flying in and out. We know the Canadians are there. We know Germans are busy up north. We know Dutch troops are there too because the Dutch coalition government just collapsed because of a disagreement on the exit strategy and more importantly the exit date. But what are the glorious Italians doing? Maybe chasing local ladies? Maybe in the kitchen? Maybe watching football/soccer on TV?

Politicians remain made of the same cloth everywhere in the world. Be it in drug infested Columbia, or touristic Italy. They are a specific abbreviation of the human species.

From politics to brainless women with fake breasts, fake eyelashes, fake hair, fake tans, fake dreams, fake happiness, and maybe even fake sex. The world of 5-stars fake-ness. Dumb, dumber and fake. The Miss-world of hot air and too much lipstick.

One of its cheapest products has decided to act real for 3 seconds and let all stupidity out in the open. Miss Beverly Hills said on numb-TV, aka Fox TV, that God wants all gay people to die.

As simple as that. Miss Beverly Hills has the divine knowledge of God’s intentions. Miss Beverly Hills is the disciple of God’s anti-gay crusade. God is good. God is great. God is almighty. And God is on a killing spree. Of course, for the sake of humanity!

And while you’re at it, probably God has also laid out to Miss Beverly Hills his/her/it (??) genocidal plans to rid the planet of all Muslims, obviously also all lesbians (falls in the gay slaughter category), all Toyotas, all environmentalists, all non-conservative politicians, without doubt all Chinese commies that are about to take over the world, all AIDS sufferers (cause they are all gay, right?), all Cubans, those funny looking Buddhists and Krishna followers, the French probably too, all teachers that don’t start classes with half an hour of prayers,.... Lots of ‘cleanup‘ work to do!

Maybe Miss Beverly Hills should just shut up and walk to Venice beach for some fake poses for tourists’ photographs. Bible and a beach towel at hand.
Human stupidity is a constant.

From very ridiculous to very serious. 2010 Has really started with a vengeance. Is the planet reacting against the fact that the climate summit in Denmark last December didn’t deliver the goods to curb global warming? Kicking and screaming.
Devastating earthquake in poverty stricken Haiti. Port of Prince wiped of the map. Historic snow storms across the US and Europe. Earthquake in Chile. Violent weather battering Europe. And we’ve only done 2 months so far. Better put your helmet on!

Good news to end it all. News of hope and the good use of advanced technology.
German carmaker Volkswagen announced it is planning to roll out an electrical Golf model in 2013. That’s just 3 years away. The VW Golf is an immensely popular car across Europe and further away. So an electrical model, mass produced, is really great news. Well done VW!!

Sometimes humans produce sparks of hope.

Throw out. Punkrocker Tony Sly has just released an acoustic-based solo album called “12 Song Program”. Tony’s been in the rock scene for ages with his band No Use For A Name. He’s done acoustic stuff before in projects with fellow punkrockers, but if I’m not mistaken this is his first fully fledged solo album. I like acoustic tunes. Not always and not every day, but when it’s well done it’s welcoming. Tony’s efforts here are somewhere in the middle. Not a bad album but it doesn’t blow me away. Give it a try.
