Like a rolling stone

Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang.

The sound of 5 gunshots through the South African sky. The kid was handcuffed and lying face down. The cop thought she was above the law and pulled the trigger. 5 Times. Some time back her boss, the national police commissioner, proudly said his men and women in blue needed to “shoot to kill”. Some cops, it seems, are taking that seriously over the edge.

Human behavior and guns can be a very deadly mix.

The wife (or is it former wife?) of former Liberian ruler Taylor is now a member of parliament in the impoverished African nation where her (ex-) husband once roamed and plundered. The husband itself is sitting in jail in The Hague for serious inhuman crimes.

So the wife proposed a new Liberian law that would make homosexuality a prime offense. On the same level as murder. Some people clearly can’t get out of their narrow-mindedness. Stuck like a truck in the mud. No other priorities in this poor of the poorest nation? Some crusade against ’others’.

And at the same time a Ugandan minister storms into a same-sex organization and tells the cops to arrest those evil people. Africa and its one step forward, 2 steps back. And in South Africa lesbians, still today in 2012, get raped to “cure” them of their sexual choice.

Human behavior can be lower than animals’ ones.

Meanwhile the onslaught in Syria continues. Bombing civilian areas. Tanks shelling houses. The dictator only seeing a total crushing as the only way out. Whatever the death toll. Whatever the destruction. Evil is roaming the land without mercy. Without shame. Without regret.

And next door, the Iranian nuke-freak continues on his atomic path. He gladly told the world his scientists made a breakthrough towards the ultimate journey. The finger of the Israeli army probably moved an inch closer to raising full alarm, sending the jets into the skies and bombing the neighbor. Tensions rise (once again).

Human behavior in the Middle East remains based on hatred.

Some booze, lots of prescription drugs and maybe some non-prescription drugs. That’s likely the cocktail of illusions that send Whitney Houston to heaven in her hotel room bathtub. Another wasted life. One more of this, one more of that, lots more of this and add some of that. And then the heart just gives up. Too much abuse. The body is not limitless.

From bodily destruction to technical mutilation.

Somewhere on the lonely roads of South Africa the men in blue stopped a 1976 Toyota pickup and impounded it.
According to the cops only the windscreen was still roadworthy. Yes indeed, amidst the pile of insanity, only the windscreen was still in good shape.

A 5-litre plastic bottle was the gastank! And everything else was just rubbish. A coffin on wheels. Tyres that had seen much better days. Brake pads non existent. Shock absorbers gone. Where there were bolts before, there were some ropes now.
All beyond usage. Gone. Eroded. Corroded. Tangled. Missing. Alternator. Floor mats. Air filter. Door handle. Exhaust. Non-leaking radiator. Tail lights. Seat belts. Mirrors. All would not pass a roadworthy test…. if they were still on or in the car.

And the owner of this Toyota didn’t understand the fuss.

Could be an advertisement for the lifespan of Toyotas.

Human behavior can make us smile sometimes,… amidst the stupidity.

So some new momentum in the US Republican race. Santorum is back and Romney is surprised and on the backseat (for now). Guess that wont be for too long. Romney still has the cash to out-do his opponent. Pump in some more millions. Find some more dirt. Spin some more. It’s only the beginning.

What a waste of money.

The Islamic nutters of Boko Haram in northern Nigeria keep killing and maiming. They wanna take this vast nation (and beyond) back to the stone age. One of their key demands is no education for girls. Just kill all those lunatics!! Once and for all….
Hundreds killed in a prison fire and riot in Honduras. Crazy.

Madman Robert Mugabe from Zimbabwe says he is as fit as a fiddle on his 88th birthday and that he is stronger than Christ. Dictators are too often aging smoothly.

Corruption investigation against the German president. And without a fuss he just steps down to let justice do its thing. That’s the perfect political correctness. Many world leaders could learn from the German democratic model.

Mexican taxi drivers. Chinese ivory poachers. Egyptian judges. Malian refugees. South African mineworkers. Belgian strikers. French politicians. Serbian snow diggers. Zambian football/soccer players. American mourners. Congolese rapists. Indonesian cops. Somali pirates. Palestinian athletes. Iranian nuke scientists. Syrian freedom fighters. Brazilian carnival dancers. English tax payers. Senegalese rioters. Australian politicians. Indian IT gurus. Afghani Muslims. Greek members of parliament. Venezuelan doctors. Yemeni voters. Canadian polluters. French journalists.

They’ve all made their mark over the last days. Fighting for what is right. Abusing power. Struggling to survive. Demanding respect. Killed. Wounded. Angered.

Human behavior is a puzzle. A patchwork of emotions.

Throw out. How do they still do it? The Rolling Stones will open the London Olympics in July this year. They must be on some serious energizers.
